I have posted many free security tools in my previous posts but in this post am writing about the best 5 that have been on top for months.(This is quick review of my previous posts)

ThreatFire is one the best free antiviruses avialble online its from the maker of spyware doctor and works perfectly wel its light on systm resources.Well its main punch lies in the fact that like avg its not a resource hog and does not detects eveything as virus or trojan even survives zero day attacks.

Bitdefender  Yes you heard it right now bitdefender also offers its free version like avg,avira
but as we all bit has been known for its high detection rate in industry and moreover its not a resource hog it requires minimum of just 64 mb ram!!!.

McAfee Stinger  Mc Afee Stinger is portable antivirus software that uses heuristics for virus detection, its specially designed to detect few dangerous viruse and their varints but its highly useful,tool a must have for all.

Online Scanners If you exhuasted with your virus scanner or some starnge reasons it does not work then you can go online and sort out things.
